Nearly three months since we last checked in at the Irvine build site in Inglewood and progress continues to develop at a slow pace. What appears to be a skeleton crew has managed to dig about a floor below grade, with a small crop of pilings now visible.
While previous estimations of the site's slow progress ranged from the weather to the Irvine's close proximity to the river, it would appear that whatever the reason, this may very well be a slower than usual construction schedule. Nevertheless, some measurable progress has clearly been made, it not inconceivable that the build site will rise above grade before summer's end.
The completed Irvine will comprise a 6-storey, 60-unit, mixed-use, residential development at the heart of Inglewood with frontage along 9 Ave SE. As for the retail component, there will be a total of five street-facing retail bays at grade.
Composed of a nice blend of traditional and modern materials, Irvine will likely be a good fit within the local streetscape. Part of the changing face of the neighbourhood, as Irvine will soon join an ever-growing list of similar developments in the area, the structure will be a fine addition to the district.
SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
