Two months since our last update, and little progress has been made at the future Irvine site in Inglewood. Excavators have cleared away some more earth from the site over the last two months, however, with the foundations now dug down about one storey below grade.

While cold weather may partially to blame, some on our Forum have suggested that the site's proximity to the river may also be behind the slow and steady approach that has unfolded to date.

The mixed-use, 60-unit development by NORR Architects and Torode Realty Advisors will eventually be home to nearly 100 new residents, in addition to a continuous strip of five street-facing retail bays. Located at the corner of 13 St SE and 9 Ave SE in the heart of Inglewood, Irvine is well-situated for the high volume of foot traffic that the popular pedestrian neighbourhood already enjoys.

Part of Inglewood's ongoing transformation - as Irvine joins several other projects now under construction in the vicinity - this current development will similarly be a boon to the area. Helping to enliven the local streetscape, and place more residents within walking distance of Inglewood's main attractions, Irvine and those like it will soon remake the neighbourhood into one of the city's premiere addresses.

SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
