Little more than a month since our last update, and progress at Bucci Developments' two-tower Dominion has moved ahead significantly. Several rows of pilings have been installed, and shoring has begun, as crews busy themselves making the site ready for excavation.
Set to rise at the corner of 9 ST NE and McDougall Rd NE in Bridgeland, the 15-storey, 150-unit duo will soon become but the latest in a series of high-density developments that are all part of the 37-acre The Bridges master plan. Making good use of the sprawling, former grounds of the General Hospital lands, The Bridges will bring several hundred residents to a prime location immediately northeast of the core on the north shore of the Bow.
Close to transit (Bridgeland CTrain), retail and dining options, and several other local services, Dominion will be an excellent choice for those looking for proximity to the core, albeit in a quiet, residential setting. Near as well to several parks, and the banks of the Bow River, Dominion will offer buyers a nice mix of natural outdoor amenities.
Closer to home, the inclusion of a large retail pavilion at grade will go a long way towards animating this portion of the new The Bridges neighbourhood. Capped with a greenery-filled rooftop terrace, the pavilion will be a natural meeting spot for residents and visitors alike.
SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below
