Two months since our last update, and progress at Strategic Group's 37-storey One Tower has been moving along nicely. Standing tall as the 122-metre, 331,000 sq.-ft. high-rise nears its midpoint, the project has captured the imaginations of our Forum members, the latest batch of photos highlighting its ever-growing presence within the downtown core.

Located at the apex of 1 St SE and 10 Ave SE, just a few blocks south of the core, the 370-unit One Tower is on target to deliver upwards of 500 new residents to the liminal space that exists between Beltline and East Village. Thereby injecting the area with a great deal of added pedestrian foot traffic and vibrancy, One Tower will serve to form an urban bridge between two of Calgary's most popular neighbourhoods.

Looking up from the street, a close-up view of the work now underway reveals that the first instances of cladding and glazing are now beginning to appear. Before long, onlookers will be able to gain a much better sense of what is in store for One Tower beyond its height and overall mass.

Once complete, One Tower will also be host to a massive, multi-storey, commercial/retail space, which will take up residence within the podium. With frontage along at least two sides, the planned retail space will work well within the tower's urban surroundings.

SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
