One month since we last checked in at the site of One Tower, and progress has been moving along swiftly. The double-height podium level has now filled out, its large scale providing a glimpse of things to come as the 37-storey high-rise by Strategic Group continues to rise.
Situated at the corner of 1 St SE and 10 Ave SE, just south of the core between Beltline and East Village, One Tower will eventually become home to upwards of 500 residents spread across 370 units. The 122-metre, 331,000 sq. ft. high-rise will be a large addition within the area, the aforementioned retail podium to help infuse a great deal of pedestrian life into the local streetscape.
The cavernous interior of the podium betrays its massive scope, the space to one day be home to a large retail tenant(s). Close to several key attractions, including Studio Bell, the New Central Library, and the CTrain, One Tower will place its residents within the heart of the city.
Viewed from above, One Tower's corner lot can be best appreciated for its size. Once complete, One Tower will be a fine addition to the area, helping knit together several of Calgary's most popular downtown neighbourhoods.
