A month since our last update, and progress at The Hat's podium level has been moving along nicely as finishing touches remain across the bulk of the tower. Glass installation is now underway at the base of the tower, the multi-storey podium now truly beginning to take shape.

Forming the base of the 221-unit, 28-storey, residential high-rise, the three-storey podium will be host to a mix of uses, including serving as the main entranceway, lobby, and children's play area. Despite lacking a retail component, new landscaping and street furniture surrounding the base of the tower will also go a long way towards ingratiating the development into the East Village.

Located at the corner of 5 St SE and 7 Ave SW in the heart of East Village, The Hat will provide some much-needed rental space within one of Calgary's newest inner-city neighbourhoods. With room for more than 300 residents, The Hat will bring a large influx of pedestrian traffic and vibrancy into the area.

Close to transit, the New Central Library, Studio Bell, and several other attractions, The Hat will be a popular address for those looking to live in the city centre.

SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
