A month since we last checked in at the Curtis Block excavation site, and steady progress has been made. Excavation crews have now dug down significantly ahead of the construction of the first phase of this three-tower residential development.

A joint effort between One Properties, Arquitectonica, and DIALOG, the two-phase, three-tower project will eventually be home to upwards of 1,500 residents spread across nearly 1,000 units. Phase One (Towers One & Two) will include 628, with Phase Two (Tower Three) adding 330 more for a grand total of 958.

Curtis Block is located along 12 Ave SE between 1 St SE and Macleod Trail, placing it between downtown, Beltline, and East Village. Close thus to transit, shops, restaurants, and numerous other attractions, Curtis Block will be a popular address for those looking to live in the heart of the city.

The fully built out and interconnected Curtis Block will meet the street with a continuous strip of retail, with at least two main frontages. Once complete, Curtis Block will effectively knit together several of Calgary's prime downtown neighbourhoods, its size and scope helping this process along.

SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
