Three weeks since our last update, and the first of the two-tower 500 Block developments has continued to make steady progress despite the recent cold snap. Located at the corner of 4 St SW and 12 Ave SW, the 7-storey mid-rise tower, now under wraps, has been a hive of activity, its hidden mass slowly but surely growing taller by the day.

Moving into the centre of the build site, the most recent images on our Forum highlight the activity to date. Cement and rebar continue to expand their presence, with work crews seemingly undeterred by the negative double-digit temperatures that have battering the city over the last few weeks.

The 35- and 7-storey 500 Block will eventually be home to 463 units, which will be joined by two large retail frontages along both 4 St SW and 12 Ave SW. Set to bring in an influx of upwards of 600 new residents, 500 Block will serve to help knit Beltline to the downtown core.

Close thus to Beltine, Central Memorial Park, and the CTrain, the well-located residential development will be a prime address for those looking for a home within the city centre.

SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Databasefile and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
