Six weeks since we last checked in at the site of West Village Towers, and progress has been moving along well. Set to be built in phases, the first and tallest of the eventual three-tower build-out has now gained an impressive footing.
Located at the corner of 11 St SW and 9 Ave SW, in the Downtown West End, the development in its finished form is on target to deliver upwards of 800 residents spread across 554 units. The proposed three-tower model will eventually see a trio of residential high-rises at 100, 125, and 150 metres.
For now, however, Calgarians will have to make due with only the tallest of the three, the 150-metre tower now looming large over the surrounding streetscape. The three towers will one day be interconnected via a common, multi-storey podium base with retail frontage along 9 Ave SW.
Close to Shaw Millennium Park, the Bow River waterfront, and the West Kerby CTrain, West Village Towers will come with much to offer its future tenants. Residents will be treated to a handful of local amenities as well, including a large concrete plaza and terrace that will grace the bottom of the development.
SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
