A month since our last update, and progress at Strategic Group's 37-storey One Tower has continued apace, the mixed-use development now standing a few storeys above grade. The multi-storey podium level has truly begun to make its presence known, its temporary white protective wrappings adding to its impact at street level.
Located at 1 St SE and 10 Ave SE, south of the core between Beltline and East Village, the development will soon bring upwards of 600 new residents to the area. At 122 metres, the 331,000 sq ft high-rise will be a sizeable addition to the neighbourhood, the addition of street level retail to enliven both major arteries upon which the property sits.
Close to many of Calgary's main attractions, including Studio Bell, the New Central Library, and the CTrain, One Tower is well-situated for those looking to be in the heart of the action. For residents, the podium will form an outdoor amenity space, its rooftop terrace to provide owners and their guests with splendid views of the core and surrounding streetscape.
Viewed from above, the build site takes on a whole new character. Though relatively squat (for now), One Tower's rise over the next few months promises to be highly dramatic as the skyline's latest addition gradually takes its place.
