Seven months since we last checked in at the site of Arlington Street Investments and Quantum Place Developments' The Windsor, and progress has moved along significantly. The six-storey, 104-unit, mixed-use, residential block designed by NORR Architects has now topped off, with cladding imminent following the completion of exterior glazing.

Located at the corner of 50 Ave SW and Elbow Drive SW, south of the core within the heart of Windsor Park, the mid-rise development will place residents within easy walking distance to Riverdale Park and the banks of the Elbow River. Close as well to the small commercial district along 49 Ave SW between 9 St SW and Elbow Dr SW, residents will be able to have an urban experience in the midst of the suburbs.

The mixed-use development will also include 22,671 square-feet of ground floor retail, thereby adding to the pedestrian vibrancy represented by the structure itself. Together with the influx of upwards of 200 new residents, the planned retail space will serve to enliven the immediate area.

The finished product (as view above) will be clad in a mix of two-tinted coloured spandrel and timber cladding. The overall effect ought to be bright and vibrant, the well-appointed development to be a fine addition to the neighbourhood.

SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
