It's been over a year since we last did a round table update of construction projects in Marda Loop, and since that time there have been many changes. Projects from the last roundup article such as The Odeon, Avenue 33, King Edward Art Incubator are now finished. Infinity by SNR Group was just beginning excavation, and today is all but completed with residents beginning to move in.

At that time, Marda by Strategic Group was just about to get underway and now the 66-unit development is 3 floors above ground. Lyfe Marda Loop by PK Developments was also preparing for construction and is now close to completion. The 4-storey, 154-unit project is topped out and currently adding exterior materials.

Viewed above, Strategic Group's Marda is quickly taking shape, while Victory and Venture by Providence, below, is nearing completion.

A few other new projects are also underway since the last overall construction update. COCO by Sarina Homes, was only a fresh proposal back then, but now the 4-storey, 76-unit building is well under construction. COCO is Sarina's second project in the Marda Loop, and a show of faith by the developer in Marda Loop as viable neighbourhood.

Other projects in the area under construction include the 32-unit Vibe14 by Passion Homes, which is already topped out. Right next to Vibe14, is Certus Developments' 3001-14th Street mixed use project which is now at grade.

Also underway is the 21-unit Residences of King Edward which is almost complete, and last but not least, Section23 Developments' 95-unit The Edward, which recently began construction.

With Calgary's economy still recovering, the amount of development in Marda Loop is a testament to the desirability of the neighborhood. With no shortage of activity in the Marda Loop area, Skyrisecities will be sure to revisit the area for another construction roundup in the near future
