The wave of development hitting Marda Loop has yet to subside, as a new mix of projects continues to reshape the area. The three projects we last looked at in February of this year, plus a new development that is now in full swing, are among the throng of additions to this evolving commercial corridor.

We start off with a look at The Odeon, a mixed-use development by Ronmor, and designed by McKinley Burkart. The building is almost complete — its freshly installed cladding now free from protective wrapping — with only a few finishing touches remaining.

Blush Lane Organic Market is now open, not just to the public for business, but physically open and integrated with the street. The addition of an organic grocery store to the neighbourhood's diverse commercial establishments has been welcomed by locals.

The busy construction zone one block east belongs to Avenue 33, developed by Sarina Homes. The four-storey Infinity project by SNR Group is also well underway. When we last checked in on the two, Avenue 33 was just coming up to grade, and Infinity was at the site preparation stage. Avenue 33 has now topped out and will be ready for installation of cladding soon.

Infinity has entered the excavation phase, evidenced below by the movement of earth off the site.

A few blocks further east is another transformative development that wasn't part of the February update: Calgary's cSPACE arts organization has been redeveloping the former King Edward School. The project, designed by Nyhoff Architecture and known as the King Edward Art Incubator features a variety of artist work spaces within the school building itself. As the refurbishment and conversion of the main arts building is being worked on, construction is also underway on 95 luxury residential units that will sit on the adjacent lot. The units were part of a land deal with Rockwood Homes that helped fund the main art project.
