A month since our last update, and it seems that the ever-photogenic Telus Sky cannot be had enough of by members of our Forum. As the 60-storey, 326-unit high-rise continues to rise, so to has its signature glazing and cladding, its distinctive curvature the focus of many an interesting shot and creative perspective.

Glazing and cladding work appear to have reached about fifty storeys up the tower, thereby giving a very close approximation of how the DIALOG- and Bjarke Ingles-designed project will look upon completion.

Making Telus Sky's curvature all the more interesting is the fact that as the twist ascends, the flat surface gives way to a boxy textural quality that will make for interesting interior spaces within the uppermost units. Upwards of 500 people will soon call Telus Sky home, in addition to a restaurant, lounge, and ground floor retail.

The completed tower will eventually be outfitted with a 160,000 square-foot LED public art installation by Douglas Coupland, which will be known as "Northern Lights." Once finished, Telus Sky will become one of the city's most recognizable high-rises, the project part of the city's ongoing urban transformation.

SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
