Some of these are technically not countries (territories) but here goes (I’ve never actually written this list down.

- Canada* (AB, BC, MB, NL, NS, ON, SK, QC) - hoping to knock of NB & PEI next year (and maybe one of the territories)

- U.S. (AZ, CO, CT, FL, ID, IL, IN, IA, MA, MI, MT, NV, NY, PA, PR, TX, WA) - unfortunately, it doesn’t look like I’ll be visiting any more states for at least three years, unless it’s for work.

- Mexico* (Mexico City & Cancun area resorts: Cabo San Lucas resort this January)

- The Bahamas
- Cayman Islands
- Turks and Caicos
- Dominican Republic*
- British Virgin Islands
- Antigua and Barbuda
- St. Kitts and Nevis
- Martinique
- St. Lucia
- St. Vincent and the Grenadines
- Grenada
- Trinidad and Tobago
- Barbados

- Iceland
- Ireland
- Scotland
- England*
- Croatia*
- Austria
- Germany
- Netherlands*
- Belgium*
- Luxembourg*
- France*
- Spain*
- Madeira (technically Portugal)
- Canary Islands (technically Spain)
- South Africa

*Countries my kids (5 & 3) have been to.

Tentatively planning to add Japan in March, and may be looking to take 1-2 months leave next year to add a couple countries to the list.

Favourite Countries: Canada (from Vancouver Island to Newfoundland, we live in a beautiful country with such a varied landscape - too bad it costs a fortune to travel here) Scotland, Iceland, Spain & Madeira (I got engaged here, so it holds a special place).

Favourite Cities: TOR, MTL, QC, HFX, VAN, VIC, NYC, CHI, BOS, Mexico City, London, Ghent, Bruges, Maastricht, Amsterdam, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Paris, Nice, Cannes, Vienna, Salzburg, Sevilla, Barcelona, Malaga, Granada, Cape Town

Now I am Googling flights.

Wow, some of you guys have gotten around!

7 Canadian provinces (not PEI, NB or NFLD)
38 US states
travelled a lot in Mexico
Belize
Honduras
Cuba
Cayman Islands
Bahamas
Jamaica

UK
Iceland
France
Germany
Belgium
Italy
Vatican City
Spain
Greece
Turkey

UAE

Japan
S Korea
China
Hong Kong
Thailand
Indonesia

Canada:
- Alberta, BC, Saskatchewan, Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, PEI, Newfoundland

USA:
- Montana, Washington State, Oregon, California, Texas, Hawaii (Maui), New York City, New England (all 6 states), Florida (Miami and the Keys, Orlando), Denver, Salt Lake City, Pittsburgh, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Chicago

Mexico:
- Mexico City, Mayan Riviera, Puerto Vallarta, Cabo San Lucas

Other countries where I have seen a lot, but I won't break down the specific places or it will take too long:

Oceana/South Pacific:
- Australia
- New Zealand
- Vanuatu
- Fiji
- New Caledonia

Asia
- Thailand
- Malaysia (both mainland and Borneo)
- Singapore
- Laos
- Vietnam
- Cambodia
- Indonesia
- China (mainland and Hong Kong)

Europe
- England
- Scotland
- Switzerland
- Italy
- Greece

Middle East / North Africa:
- Dubai
- Jordan
- Egypt

Africa
- Kenya
- Uganda
- Rwanda
- Tanzania (including Zanzibar)

Latin America
- Dominican Republic
- Ecuador & Galapagos Islands
- Peru
- Bolivia

I think that is all of them. There are a couple I don't count, for instance I have technically been to Jamaica but it was a day excursion on a cruise, so I feel that an organized excursion like that to one activity and then back doesn't really count as going to a country.

In terms of favourite it is difficult to pick, but the 5 days I spent in Vanuatu were pretty amazing. Things operate a bit different there with some looser rules, so I got to literally ride a sea turtle when scuba diving amongst WW2 wrecks, stand on the edge of an erupting volcano as it threw lava up onto the other side of the rim (my local guide assured me it was safe as he was watching the steam to see how the wind was blowing).
