The Bow is already up a couple feet over last week, nothing concerning so far though, this looks to be a typical June water level. Tonight is the really heavy rain, so we will see what happens...
There are some lower level apartments facing the river on 24 Ave that are at risk. I am pretty sure there was some flooding there in (I want to say) 2005 or 6. That year was one of the worst for flooding along the Elbow up until 2013.Yeah, I noticed the first tiny bit of overland flooding yesterday in the boardwalk area of Lindsay Park. Nothing major, very small. But this is the highest I’ve seen the Elbow since 2013 without a doubt. Though, that is not to say it is even remotely close to the 2013 level of course.
For reference, the pebble beach usually in the first pic is a good 4 feet down.
Gondek says the 14 day declaration will allow emergency services to implement an evacuation order. No such order is in place at this time. She says this is being done now out of an abundance of caution.
