The 3000 jobs is more strict than I thought at first glance - create 3000 jobs and maintain them for at least 10 years. Only so many of those can be 5G roll out rolls.

The two main Eau Claire land uses are going to CPC next week, the redesignation of the Market, and the old YMCA site.

Another planning file going to committee next week, the Infrastructure and Planning Committee of Council, not CPC, is the Heritage Communities Local Area Plan. This is the plan that will set the vision for these communities for the next 30 years, similar to the North Hill Communities LAP and the Westbrook LAP that have already gone through the process (Westbrook is still pending finalization of Council, as it is waiting on the region to vote).

Sure, they promise this now in the DP, but I guarantee once built it'll never look as half good as that rendering.

Ottawa approved Roger's $26-billion takeover of Shaw. Part of the deal is creating Western headquarters in Calgary and 3000 news jobs. Does this mean a new office building? I assume they'll want to have high class and quality office space similar to Telus sky

Or they could re-use an existing building. It's good to see they are maintaining Calgary as a western head office for 10 years, but it's tricky trying to hold companies to doing actual head office duties in a designated city. It may and up being a head office in name only. I guess time will tell.

I'm peeved that they allowed the Bell/Rogers monopoly to grow further. Something needs to be done to even the playing ground for smaller startup telecoms in this country

Agreed. The correlation between parking horses/carriages and parking cars as a use... I don't know.

It's just funny, horses to cars. Everyone in the article was falling over themselves with joy and it is better than the garages that typically accompany these townhomes.
