Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

Must be the case, some sort of shared access agreement. The existing ramp is in a weird spot, so I wonder if this was the plan all along.
It was the plan all along. Remember a friend explaining it to me like 10 years ago.

Ya that parcel was purchased by Minto in 2022 with a groundbreaking originally planned for 2023. Maybe the market softened to the point where it no longer made sense?

Great to see a hotel as that will probably help activate the community better than more residential at this point. I'm also curious how they will manage the underground parking link with the adjacent building although there does look to be a parkade entrance in the DP drawings on the NW corner.

Edited this post as at first I didn't like the thought of gated access on the Riverwalk or the pools being perpetually shaded but on further reflection, I think it might actually work out well. Those pools look like hot tubs and they are raised so that they should offer a view onto the Riverwalk and river.

That area is quite lively during the summer but during the winter and especially during winter evenings there is next to no activation along the Riverwalk there as the patios are all closed. If there are 10-15 people hanging out in outdoor hot tubs and watching what goes does along the Riverwalk, that is probably deliver way better 'eyes on the street' and a sense of activity than yet another patio space that will be completely closed and baren for 6 months of the year.

Glad to see proposals along 6th avenue. Once Scotia Place opens and the new 6th St SE underpass opens, the connection to the C+E district is actually great from this location.
