Marda Loop Mixed Use | 22m | 6s | Boardwalk REIT | S2

I noticed a Boardwalk Lifestyle sign on the temporary fencing around the site the other day. That doesn't make me very hopeful that whatever gets developed on this site will be much of a looker, which would be too bad for such a prominent part of the neighbourhood.

No real additional information, but they reference this Marda Loop site in their investor presentation in May 2024. Gives me the vibe that it's a legit project that might actually happen:

Some boardwalk branding on site... no updates on their website and nothing on DMAP.

Does Boardwalk actually build stuff? I always though of them as buying existing buildings...
I think so - here's the reference from one of their recent investor presentations, don't think we have anything new to go on for the past year or two. No real details apart from "it'll be an apartment building with retail".

Great to see something move forward here, even if it's just a plain, forgettable, mixed use box.

That ground floor height inconsistency will drive me nuts if they keep that in the final design. The site grade isn't remarkable at all, just figure it out so we can skip all these unnecessary ramps and stairs and have pedestrians just walk in!
