General Construction Updates

I was randomly thinking about the Lougheed building the other day and what was going on with it. Does anyone know if the improvements to the building are completed or what the status is? Or will it be in a perpetual state of construction for the rest of its life?

They're excavating the SW corner beside the PBS Systems office at 130th ave. Looks like a possible parkade expansion but I remember a user saying there were plans for a new building a while back. They've added more road infrastructure including a second traffic circle behind the Canadian Tire too. Anyone have any info about this?

There's a land use change proposed. Maybe a concurrent DP was submitted too, just not on dmap. The McDonald's just did a renovation, not sure what changed but it was a pretty new location so maybe it was changing the footprint in anticipation of something being developed.

I work near that McDonalds, seems like they renovated to change the interior layout and make it more open. I have suspicions it was also to deter homeless people from camping out in there. The old layout had most of the seating around a corner from the main counter so staff couldn't see what patrons might have been up to.

Does the C-Train bring a lot of homeless people into the area? Living in Marda Loop, we're close to downtown but have zero homeless people, I think that's because of the lack of a train and requirement to bus here.

Train and that area has a lot of open space and McDonalds generally draw those people to it. There's just no reason for them to congregate in residential areas, I think most prefer to be left alone. For where I live, there's the occasional garage break in or vandalism, but you don't see them congregating during the day in a visible way.
