Also, shameless plug, I try to hold get-togethers for the urbanism activism community here about 2-3 times a month, and there's a lot of overlap in interest there so, if that's something people would be down to join I'd be happy to extend invites.

What time and where on Saturday fellas? Told my girlfriend about our meet up and she called me a dork so I retorted that I am excited to learn more from the gang.
As long as there is beers and wings I'm happy.

I'd say this is a place for crowdsourcing information and construction updates for major developments - which is a type of civic engagement, but the politics of activism and the totality of urbanism are not the core focus of the forum. Which is totally okay, lots of users do bring those perspectives here, and it's important to have strong branches for specialized interests like construction. I'm very happy that there is such a passionate and constructive community here able to build and document that knowledge for the public.
The organizations I'm a part of run mostly on Discord, that's Strong Towns Calgary, More Neighbours Calgary, and Unsprawling - respectively focused on finances/infrastructure, housing policy, and social media communications - with in-person hangouts and engagements a growing part of what we do.
Sometimes we're pretty organized... sometimes not so much. Public awareness and internal capacity are the big issues for any small political organization - we do have some wins to show though.

Any opposition to Leopold's Tavern on First and 12 Ave - maybe 7pm to late?
Good central location with cycling access for Surreal, easy access to the Truman trio so we can live our best umari lives.
Someone might want to put in a reservation just so we've got a good table to hang on to.
Leopold's is fine. Any place around that area works for me.

Yeah I’m good with Leopolds, but I will say, on a Saturday, it’s gonna be loud and crowded as hell. They always pump the music way too loud on weekends
