West District | ?m | ?s | Truman

It would likely be far, FAR more cost effective to simply just run the 98 at a 5 minute frequency during peak hour, and then 15 minute frequency outside of that. That bus would take you to/from the heart of West District to 69th Street Station in like 5 minutes.

True. A future NW/West Calgary crosstown MAX route could likely fulfill the primary transit network link here. Could take you from Blue Line to Winsport, Westhills, and other destinations.

A chilly walk at lunch, but here are some photos from today:

Radio Park is really coming along. Still no animal sculptures, there is a fence up around it. But, it is looking like the spring ribbon cutting will be easily met:

Radio Block is still moving along. Looks like their green roof is getting ready for install in the spring:

The Quarters is seeing much of the cladding/glass rising up the structure:

Not the best photo, but it looks like Adelaide's parkade has reached grade now:

District Townhomes are essentially complete. Move-ins have happened, looks like there is just some interior finishing on a few units left:

The last building of Trico's West83rd Townhomes Phase 1 is well underway:

And the internal road network / shallow utilities of West83rd Phase 2 are in, likely seeing the buildings starting up in the new year:

Mondrian is nearing completion. The western building looks to be done and ready for occupancy, while the eastern buidling is just getting some finishing touches. The sign is even out in front on the sidewalk:

Oak & Olive's parkade has really started to rise:

The medium format grocery store and retail is nearing completion from the looks of it. They are already using the parking lot for the construction workers:

And finally, the 8 single family homes on the western portion of the community by Trico are essentially done. 1 or 2 maybe have some final interior work being done, but people have moved into most of them:

Got together with a few of the development dork friends today to tour this area - it's so gorgeous in person. This little townhome district is incredible, I hope this design can be enabled in the City's new H-2 zone, it would be great to see some 4-storey construction like this more often.

They have a little model version of the district in their sales centre. So cute. The Truman family are out and about in the neighbourhood very regularly, checking in on the construction progress. It's amazing to see such a true appreciation and love for detail in a new urban community like this — "Truman wants to stake their legacy" is a phrase I've heard a few times while walking around here today.

It's come along way, and will move even quicker as it develops more.
Truman must have at least 2 billion dollars worth of development under construction, or proposed - expected within the next 5 years or so at least. It's almost unimaginable.

Closer to double that actually if they are go through. There are also a partnership to develop a couple of higher end hotels.
