Nice looking proposal. A real bonus is that it's only a few block from the Westbrooke LRT. Once that Once that empty parcel beside the station gets built, there will be a seven block stretch for which to build up a retail corridor.
The redevelopment plan for Westbrook was quite aggressive at one point (see below). We haven't really seen anything new for the area since the transit office above the station, the tear down of the schools and Brava/Ovation/Encore on the North side of Bow. This one isn't quite within the redevelopment planning zone. It's roughly equidistant between Westbrook and Shaganappi Point stations according to Google. Hopefully it's a sign of things to come for the area though.
That whole area could come together really well. You've got a master plan developed area around Westbrooke with the potential for an organically developed area leading up to it along 17th. I'm more of a fan of organically developed neighborhoods, but master planned ones can be really great if tied into organically developed areas.
This is excellent! Can't wait for this one to get going. Truman is really upping their game lately. This design is almost reminiscent of the work that Ottawa's Minto does.
I've been impressed with Truman so far. I might be a bit biased as I love mixed use buildings in the scale and massing of Ventus and West 17th. I also like that their buildings aren't just boxes there is character to them.
