Hi,

So the 59th Flr got Poured! Guess When the 60th Flr Gets Completed it will B a Party of Sorts, by the End of the Month.
When I See Edmonton Going Higher Up Flr Wise I have to wonder Who has the Advantages, Edmonton or Calgary. It used
to B that Calgary had More to Offer. Looks like Edmonton is Winning Hands Down. Guess We will have to Wait and See.

Tnx,
Operater.

I'm not sure what you're getting at. Edmonton has more to offer now that they have a taller building? lol. Both cities have lots to offer depending on what you like. I guess if tall towers are your only thing than Edmonton might have more to offer, but even then, it's one tower. Calgary has 18 of the top 20 tallest towers in Alberta, so Calgary might have more to offer if you like tall towers in general.

Calgary's much more dense, with a plethora of very tall (and well designed) buildings. Edmonton having one that is slightly taller doesn't mean it's suddenly better than Calgary. I find their downtown kind of cold, in some ways even more corporate than Calgary. Each downtown developed differently. While Calgary has buildings made of all sorts of different materials and shapes based on all the different eras we've gone through, Edmonton is just recently experiencing a big skyscraper surge, and their skyline is pretty inundated with a bunch of blue glass boxes. I'm not a huge fan of Stantec or the Ice Towers there for that reason, just because they're tall doesn't mean they're nice. I'd take a 725ft Telus Sky over a 825ft Stantec Tower any day of the week.

I'm sure there's a lot of towers in both cities futures and perhaps the tallest in Alberta/Western Canada crown can be motivation, also Brookfield IS ONLY 3m shorter . . .

Nonetheless, I think in general a few tall towers don't hold a candle to numerous more moderate towers, Portland Or.'s tallest tower is not even 170 m and its downtown feels super dense.
