This will settle the speculation. DP is in for "Stampede Station offices" located at 308 17 AV SW (interestingly enough, only a few doors down from Vesta's upcoming towers). It's just an extensive refurbish of the existing building and will include a "sales presentation area". DP2025-05111, NORR architects.

I wonder if these towers will have accent lighting, like Telus Sky or the crown of Brookfield place, I think it adds a nice bit of charm to downtown. Hope that trend continues

Poor Vesta... went from being the talk of the town and having the tallest residential tower in Calgary to now having the sales centre for the tallest building in Western Canada across from their head office...

I would be surprised if we see a sales centre here in Calgary. I bet it'll be similar to what we saw with the others. whether they can sell them though is another story. A couple of years back everything was selling like crazy, but it's a different market for investor condos today.

Truman also has a habit of acquiring units itself to be used as rentals.

Looks like there is a Burnaby proposal to overtake the Stantec Tower, but it should be shorter than Stampede Station.

I think Vancouver/Burnaby will eventually have the tallest outside of Toronto, but it'll be delayed a few years. Calgary might get to hold the title again for a short period.

Yeah loads of that in the GTA these days. That 84 storey building in Mississauga is just overkill. I'd rather see the really tall stuff in the downtown area where it belongs.

These vertical suburbs seem so strange on streetview, definitely don't have the feel of a proper urban area.

I'm not a fan of the tall skyscraper clusters surrounded by single family homes. I'm good with a few highrises leverage some transit areas, but I'll always prefer low rises and missing middle type housing spread out over more area. I like the density build that Vancouver has along Broadway and area, the Montreal neighborhoods with the rows older apartments, or our inner city neighborhoods like Kensington, Inglewood, et al, including newer like U/D.
