You have 3 choices if you want to see the rodeo:
* Buy $45 tickets when sales open in October, and hope nothing comes up in the next 9 months that keeps you from using those tickets.
* Closer to Stampede time, buy the tickets you want after-market for $250+ due to demand.
* The day you're actually at the stampede, grab rush tickets for $30 when the box office opens at 10.

The third option sounds great until you realize that none of those seats have a view of the rodeo. Seriously, you can't see anything and need to look at the big screens. It's hard to describe how bad those seats on the edge are.

So, the problem, to me, is that there aren't enough seats, and some of the seats we do have are worthless for views of the rodeo.

The new suites would have the potential to attract other sporting events to GMC Stadium outside of the 10 days of the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth.

Nothing I read in the article makes me think they're against a Stampeder's move to the Grandstand. Populous wouldn't be doing their job if they don't reach out to CSEC. Outside of Stampeder games a sports field in the City Centre has potential to host Canadian National Team Soccer, Rugby, not to mention Concerts.

I took his comments to speak generally about sports and events and the desire for premium spaces.

I see this less as I "boy would it be neat" idea of having the Stampeders play there, it actually would be a great use of a relatively unused building...and more of a "how would it even be possible" physically. How would the field be orientated with the infield and grandstand being immoveable? Would it be a natural field on a tray that would move to the infield? Artificial turf is very cumbersome to remove, it cant be just rolled up and out of the way, is that then on a tray? Would the stampeders be ok never having a home game from late june to early july?

I don’t see why the infield building can’t be completely removed and rebuilt. That building is kind of a dump. I worked one summer stocking liquor throughout all the concession booths at the Grandstand and Infield building, and that infield is pretty dumpy.

The signage sticking out and the black clading gives an old theatre style vibe. This seems part of the overall design rather than just making the original cladding black. Being an Autograph, it makes sense it’s trying to bring some Stampede, old Western style in the hotel.
