Unfortunately, the " Big Owe" situation is a choice between terrible options. Either spend $870 million on a new roof for a building that needs major renovations on top of that in order to be of much use for anything, or spend up to $2 billion to demolish the thing (although a lot of people rightly question why that figure seems ridiculously high).Olympic Stadium will continue to be a white elephant money pit far into the future. Too expensive to demolish, too big for CFL and MLS, and unsuitable for MLB without a very expensive renovation to practically every corner of the interior.
