Midfield Heights | 40m | 11s | City of Calgary

Honestly do what they're doing at 6th Ave and 9th Street downtown. Some affordable modular construction would be great. Only thing is, for affordable housing it isn't close to much other than a Co-op.
Hopefully Midfield Heights *is* the thing that housing within it will be near. Would be a huge missed opportunity for the region not to make the place a retail hub.

Is it not weird to have this so finished before any shovel has touched the ground?
It drives me nuts that they do this. I've see so many projects where the city does all the finish work surrounding a site, then the building contractors come in and destroy it, then it has to be done again.

So, the first DP is in, this one for "Lot 3". Architect is "Pact" and developer is "Alpha Built" out of Edmonton, who have done/are doing a few decent buildings here in Calgary including the 6 storey Kingslanding building and some of the midrises in Shawnee Park. I'm just not a fan of these sort of comprehensive townhouse developments - I much prefer townhomes to be street oriented - so this one isn't doing it for me. Still, at least it's a sign of life for Midfield.
