Just have to wait a little longer for it to appear on the website. Looking forward to checking it out.

Interestingly I saw an article quoting the gym owner talking about how the construction hurt his business. I'm sure it did but this will completely wipe out his business. It will be difficult to find a large space like that anywhere in the immediate area. Currie already has a few gyms.

Yeah thats my gym, not looking forward to it closing. There really isnt an alternative in the area. All the gyms in Currie are group class training or personal training

When I went to the information session, the rep from Co-Op gave me the impression that the gym lease was somewhat challenging for them (i.e., likely contained penalties to the lessor for early termination). He also gave me the impression that the parties were in talks to potentially have the gym as a tenant in the new building, but this seems unlikely given the proposed number of CRUs and overall size, and given they would have to relocate during construction and likely won’t want to relocate twice. I thought a gym might make a good second floor tenant (similar to the GoodLife off 17th Ave) but they are proposing residential on the second floor.

The DP drawings are not up on DMap:

We have seen all of the renderings already, so here is the site plan:

I like what the plan shows for 34 Ave and 20 St. 33 Ave could be okay but it depends on how the interaction with street level is, usually Co-op or Safeway are just big concrete walls. The Blush Lane kitty corner from this site is a good example of what I think works well as they have that garage door that sometimes opens to the street on warm days.

There will be lots of objection to the 19 story towers. Shorten the height on the towers to what they have for Tower A and I think this is a slam dunk.

I don’t think the interaction is going to be great on 33 with a lobby, 1 CRU, and a massive garage door near the NW corner for deliveries.
