It's hopefully going to be a good couple of years to be a Flames fan (followed by a bad half-decade as all of the aging players on max contracts pile up). But a good couple of years might be better than another decade of mediocrity?

It's all worth it if they can win a cup! This is the best team the Flames have had since the cup in 89, lots of the talking heads are predicting the Flames make it the whole way, a couple even predict a Flames - Panthers Final!

I've given up all hope. I'll believe it when they win the Western Conference. Actually I'll believe it when they win the cup. After the loss in '04 and the brutal call against the Oilers this year I have little faith in the referees.

I agree. This team, and basically the team last year for the most part, is the best group of talent we've seen since the 89/early 90's team. If we had Kipper today, we'd have a seriously good shot at a cup.

I don't remember the exact quote, but someone asked him to compare Tkachuk to Tiffoli, and his response was one of them has won cups and been in deep playoff runs.

I think the media has blown this out of proportion, that was a pretty typical Sutter response.

It was a typical Sutter response, but it makes you wonder what Sutter and Tkachuk's relationship was like. Sutter tended to be 'conservative' with his praise when it came to Tkachuk.

It was nice seeing them get the win. They'll have another tough one tonight, but I feel like whether they win or lose, either way the Flames will be competitive and fun to watch this season.

Loved seeing Kadri score right after Kane threatened to break his hand again. Jack Campbell is everything I hoped he would be for the Oilers haha!

Did not watch the game, how did kane do that? Just gesture at him or something?

He skated by and said "I'm going to break your hand again". Kane cross checked Kadri from behind n the playoffs last year and broke his hand. Apparently that's something to celebrate if you're a total scumbag like Kane is.

Flames are 5-1 and Kadri is on a tear! Huby with his first of the season last night too!
