Eau Claire Place II | 68m | 17s | Pacific Reach

At first I thought they were painting that wall too look like windows, or is that what they are doing?

For the price per square footage of these units the developer presumably has to be confident in Calgary’s rental market.
Yeah those are some seriously high prices, especially without even a balcony. The 2 bed plan looks decent with lots of natural light but those studio and 1 bed plans are tiny.

The studio actually doesn't look too bad from a layout perspective. But the 1 bed is seriously awful.

I hope developers aren't so confident in the market that they think that all they need to build is crappy shoeboxes. Toronto and Vancouver are good examples of what happens when that's the only supply that gets built.

Weren't these projects supposed to have some sort of affordable housing component to be eligible for the subsidies or am I mis-remembering it? Can't see these rental prices as meeting that threshold

I get the idea of the studio with the bathroom in the middle to separate spaces. At 340 square feet, you better be really, really thin and have never felt claustrophobic. Feign affordability. Terrible precedence as this is exactly how it started in Toronto. The layouts and kitchens are what you see in Toronto than Vancouver.

Micro units priced at 2k is different than ones priced at $1,200 which would be suitable for young people wanting their first place in a new building.

The area is changing and will be a hub for students, with limited budgets.

I think it looks just fine as is. Hoping they dont paint it
