The Calgary Japanese Community Association currently resides in two adjacent buildings: an aging four-plex from the 1970s, and a mid-century community centre that has undergone many ad hoc renovations. To optimize the use of its property and reverse its declining membership, the Association’s board set out to create a new contemporary cultural centre and community hub for Japanese immigrants in Calgary.

It's too bad a beautiful building like this will be hidden away on an nondescript residential street. Even if it was one block north, it would be visible from Killarney Park.
It would look so nice on 33rd ave in Marda or on 17th ave SW in Killarney. Edmonton Trail or down in Bridgeland or Kensington area would also be nice.

That little park area is going to look gorgeous! Be curious to see the the interior of residential units planned!

Thanks guys for all the kind words! Glad to see the excitement being generated around this one. We're awaiting board approvals and fund raising so it'll be a bit of a slow burn but we're hopeful we can get this one going in 2021!
