Broadway on 17th | 154m | 47s | Vesta | Zeidler

Man, remember the days when we were all jazzed up about this project as the next big thing?

Still more excited about this than the W Hotel. The other one just adds (awkward) height. This project adds an excellent street level whereas the W is just lay-by's and lobbies.

The public observation level will be cool though.

Both have their appeals. One is a statement tower meant to add luxury amenities to the city (and change the skyline), and one adds retail and frontage space to the most urbanized street in the city via (in my opinion) the best podium this city has seen designed.

To be fair I have no issues with stampede stations podium as well, but it won’t serve the same utility as this project.

While this project excites me for the ground-level public space, I'm concerned that it will likely be phased, starting with building only the first tower - which would be nice, but wouldn't complete the ground plaza they have planned.

They are saying the Estimate occupancy 2030......... even later than Truman stampede hotels

That podium/square looks considerably more basic once you strip out the whiz-bang of the early renderings. Hopefully it still ends up being a good one with quality materials...I'm not a fan of tall towers on 17th, so it's the one thing that make me excited about the project. The towers themselves are pretty whatever.
