This is great news. A land use application for the empty lot on 17th and 11th, and now this. Potential for 2 empty lots on 17th to disappear.

They are if it's the same Vesta out in Langley BC. They are nearing completion on Latimer Heights Langley's first high rises at 32 and 26 storeys.

Here’s a render of the Langley project. Not outstanding but much nicer than the rest of their projects. Some hope as long as they hire a decent architect.

Kind of excited about a the prospect of a new player. I feel like we’ve seen a lot of the same thing from the same architects & developers.

Heading past this site this morning I noticed that Vesta Properties has their Calgary office in the building across 17th to the south. That bodes well. Either they will relocate their office into the new building, or remain where they are and want something nice to look at.

I have heard the same from a reliable source. Two or three towers, I believe, with the tallest at 40+ floors.

No, they need to submit a development permit for review and approval first. Looking at spring 2025 at the absolute earliest construction would be my guess.

I'm not even sure if they might need a rezoning first? Regardless, probably a good year or more before any actual construction happens unfortunately.
