BMO Centre Expansion | 25m | 5s | CMLC

That map still shows the "Stampede trail" retail strip on Olympic way. We'll see how that pans out as I don't see it being overly successful unless the arena district brings a lot of development to the area in the near future.

I'm really hoping this becomes our main entertainment strip - full of bars, clubs, and restaurants. It's close to downtown, but has a decent buffer from residential uses. Great transit access as well.

Are the booths and gates really needed? Can't they just put in pay machines that give you a ticket to put in your windshield?
The Stampede WANTS booths. Because they think the personal touch is part of the STAMPEDE SPIRIT!

Edit: in the past they’ve rejected park Plus due to this. We will see if they can resist the cost savings and all around benefits for long once their lots have more ingress and egress points.

Once the arena construction gets underway, there will be more multi-family development to the north and east along 12 Ave. When you add in Curtis Block to what is already to the west, there is considerable residential density in which to draw from. If done right, the 'Stampede Trail' will be a destination for the rest of the city as well.

Okay question. All these new renders of the BMO center look great and such, but are those exterior shots exclusive to the new addition being built? Assuming the expansing they just finished has the same exterior design as the older parts of the building, will the final design be a mix of the original structure and the new addition? I'm guessing it would have been to expensive to refurbish the untire existing structure to keep up a consistent exterior design

Correct, they are going to be leaving most of the existing structure as is. They will redo the façade of the section running NW/SE to the c-train station, you can see it outlined in red here:

The rest of the current façade that runs north along the c-train station and then faces NW before connecting with the casino will stay as is.
