Calgary & Alberta Economy

Another piece of positive news. The tweet didn't say where the stats are from, but I'm assuming StatsCan.

Probably Statscan, her data is usually reliable. Looks decent for Calgary though. I wonder what's driving the job market in Ottawa?.

Looks like Keystone XL is going to get built before Trans Mountain. What does that say about the sad state of affairs in Canada?? We have to go south because we can't get anything built east or west in our own country.
Well, it was started far sooner and doesn’t need to drill througha literal mountain - it can be finished in a single year.

I heard this project is getting closer to the construction phase, a race track and motorsports resort in the badlands, an hour outside Calgary. all needed approvals are in place already...at 400 million dollars, it's supposed to rival other race tracks in North America and give the tourism industry in Calgary and Alberta a needed boost. especially at a time the Alberta government wants to double revenue from tourism to 20 million a year by 2030.
lots of info, designs, renderings and numbers can be found in the website. I am actually Amazed to see this might be happening just outside Calgary..

Interesting. I had not heard of that. Great location for it although it is a bit far from major population and other amenities. It will have to become a destination (around North America and the globe) for it to be successful. Let's hope it can be.?

I had not heard of this Badlands track, but I saw a news story last week about this other upcoming race track a little closer to Calgary near Carstairs: http://rockymotorsports.com/about/

Interesting that we might be getting 2 high class motor racing venues within a short drive from the city.

it's supposed to be open this summer! it's a smaller one though at 25 million compared to the one at the badlands at 400 million, the later one will rival other big North American tracks.
