Conversion to… residential?! That’s dope, I can take updates from my balcony 🤪

Glad to see the exterior is staying mostly the same, I always liked the look of this building. Just something about it being nearly square in shape really appeals to me. Anyone know the exact age of this building? All I can see in the historic aerial images is that it might be an add-on to a pre 1924 building.

I think it was 1964. This is great, I'm so happy the facade is being preserved. This will be an interesting block with Beltline Block and this. I know they want to do more on this block but I wonder how it will come together. They can reuse the existing underground parking which has to save them a lot of money.

There was talk of demolishing the other TA building, the bunker to the west, preserving the foundation and bulding a tower. Is that still in the cards?

The first tower in that proposal will actually be built on the current Riddell Kurczaba building, currently under demolition. Not on the existing parking garage footprint of the Transalta complex.

Finally a promising conversion. Seeing Kirkor is concerning. They are hacks. Chances are high for spandrel glass windows that cheapens the look for some.
