    Calgary Event Centre | 36.85m | 11s | CSEC | HOK

In this city, the best stadium is the one that actually gets built, which is an increasingly tough ask. To my knowledge, there hasn't been one built with private funds since McMahon was built 65 years ago.

I can't see a central stadium happening unless another ownership group comes in and throws a lot of money at Spruce Meadows. They have a huge advantage in building where they are as they already own the land and have an easier time developing that land by not having to deal with the city. It's...

Yes. Per Forbes, the average club is worth $658 million USD. They scored a $2.5 billion USD streaming deal with Apple last year. There is a better chance that Montreal cashes out and moves to CPL than if Canada were to get another club. Not that the former has a high chance at all.

    The Cavalry FC thread

Cavalry's first home game was Tuesday night against Vancouver FC in the cup. Small crowd, but great to be back. They won, so they will play Vancouver Whitecaps in the next round in 2 weeks. Cavalry's CPL home opener is Sunday against Pacific. That crowd should be over 4000, as that was what...

MLS is done with Canada. The last expansion club cost $500 million USD and that's before building a stadium. That $1 billion+ CAD funds Cavalry for the next century, and that includes the 12000 seat stadium included in the Spruce Meadows long term plan.

    General Construction Updates

Elizabeth Square update. This is shaping up to be a great addition to the community. Apparently an Italian restaurant and coffee shop is coming to the main level so RIP to my wallet. Would love for LDG to snap up the empty corner lot in the second photo but I think their specialty is...

    General Construction Updates

Completely agree. LDG has brought significant vibrancy to 34th Ave. The small businesses are thriving and bringing real vibrancy to the area, you can really notice it during warm summer evenings. Really curious to see what goes in, they have mentioned a restaurant. Give me 100 of these...

    General Construction Updates

A look at Henry Block in Marda Loop before and after development, and a peek into their Elizabeth Square development down the street. They are currently painting a large mural on the South side of the new 4 story office / retail building. Leonard Development Group is doing amazing stuff in...

Walked by today. Excavators were on site and so were steel beams so it looks like this will begin shortly.

    Prairie Block | 13m | 2s | Indevelopments | Gravity Architecture

No action on site since construction stopped. Likely doesn't make sense until the Main Streets work surrounding the building is complete and the weather allows for longer construction days.

With the main streets work on 33rd being stopped for the holiday shopping season, this one might pick back up for a bit.

Another half a block on 33rd was just torn down East of 19 St. I think that one is Sarina homes and they seem to be good at getting things built.

Guess those properties will continue to be completely run down and fenced off for the time being. Wish they would either have kept them as is until they were actually ready to build, or knocked them down. It's a complete eyesore right now.

    1900 Marda Loop | 23m | 6s | Sarina Homes

Hopefully this site doesn't end up like Marlo on 36th. They're just now building the remaining units 10 years after demolition.

    1900 Marda Loop | 23m | 6s | Sarina Homes

My only issue with this development is that these buildings that take up such a huge parcel of land can get a little boring visually. Something like South Bank in Inglewood where the facade changes as you walk along the building would be much better, IMO.
