They all look the same to me. Spandrel, Glass, Balconies and a neutral colour palette. As long as it has good pedestrian interaction at the ground level, then it's a win. Looks like there used to be two houses on this property. One of them looks like it was a mansion or something. 1982:

    West District | ?m | ?s | Truman

The City should look into building an LRT line that ties West District to Blue line. The new line would be slightly less than 6km in length. Ideally the LRT line would be elevated along the length of Bow Trail.

    Calgary Transit

The City of Calgary made a new Engage page for 5 transit projects: 1. 144Ave BRT 2. Shaganappi Trail 3. Red Line South Extension 4. MAX Purple Extension 5. 52nd Street East BRT https://engage.calgary.ca/calgarys-transit-projects

    Green Line LRT | ?m | ?s | Calgary Transit

We can keep one northbound lane open. Or remove parking and have two narrow lanes.

There's no reason the LRT line can't run at-grade north of 4th ave with a surface station at Eau Claire and then go elevated and then over the river. The city could even close the entirety of 2nd street (North of 4th Ave.) to cars, including this useless Cul-De-Sac: Turn it into a plaza or...

    Green Line LRT | ?m | ?s | Calgary Transit

I have a hard time fathoming 2 billions dollars. In my opinion, the only section that requires tunneling is from the CP tracks to 4th Ave. That's a 700m tunnel.

Forgive my ignorance...I'm not well versed in the history of this project. But what was the city and the province doing from 2015-2019? There was an NDP majority in office, Nenshi was mayor and all three levels of government had committed to funding in 2015. Was four years not long enough to...

From the pictures, it looks like the 301 BRT route is remaining. A "MAX service" will not be implemented. In my opinion, it's kind of a branding fail on CT's behalf. The new stations like nice though!

The density may be underwhelming, but the proposal fits the context of the surrounding houses within the neighborhood, the design isn't horrible, and it's better than a surface parking lot for the next 20 years. I'll count this as a win.

    General Construction Updates

There's nothing wrong about being a little bit of a NIMBY. When NIMBYs oppose everything, then it becomes a problem. NIMBYs in Inglewood stopped Freeway construction into downtown in the 1960s.

    Trinity Hills | 20m | 6s | Trinity Group

I would nice if the city could implement a MAX service along 16th Ave out to COP. There could be station at Trinity Hills and COP similar to this: The City could run the BRT down Bowness Road, Parkdale Blvd and Kensington road similar to this: It would take a lot of political will as the...

I also think the Sunnyside LRT station did wonders for the businesses along 10th Street. I found it funny when business owners along Centre street were complaining that the LRT would eliminate on-street parking. Yeah...you lose a few off-peak parking spots in front of your business, but you...

    Green Line LRT | ?m | ?s | Calgary Transit

Forgive my ignorance... But if the utilities have already been relocated along 11th Ave. and 2nd Street why is the underground option so much money? Shouldn't it be cheaper to do a cut and cover subway? You'd think 6 billion dollars can go a long ways.

    Green Line LRT | ?m | ?s | Calgary Transit

Those are all good points. But the LRV's have been ordered from CAF, so the system is going to use low-floor LRT technology.

    Green Line LRT | ?m | ?s | Calgary Transit

In my opinion, the 14th Ave at-grade crossing and sharp turn is the only blemish on an otherwise perfect LRT line. The rest of the NW Red line is grade separated or has low traffic at-grade crossings.

    Green Line LRT | ?m | ?s | Calgary Transit

I don't think a BRT transitway is the right system for the SE and NC corridor. 1. Operation costs are high for BRT as you have to run lots of buses frequently to achieve decent ridership (Paying operators is expensive for a transit system). This means you can't provide as much service as a rail...

Then we have a train from 4th street to Shepard. And then when more funding is available, the line can be extended 1.5km to 7th Ave. City building never stops. But we need to get the ball rolling on the project now.

The CAF Urbos 100's have been ordered and are arriving in 2027. Shovels need to go into the ground in 2025 and this thing needs to be built from at least Shepard to 4th Street.

    Green Line LRT | ?m | ?s | Calgary Transit

An elevated train gives passengers a good view of the city. It's kind of silly to elevate a tram, but whatever...it is what it is. I don't think it's a big deal if a couple parking stalls on 10th Ave get chewed up every 20' for the elevated guideway columns. 10th Ave. isn't a shining beacon of...
