Oilers were the developer for the whole Ice District, so there was a lot of noise. CSEC are just doing the arena, the city is doing the greater area, so it's different.

They can pay a fee to use it, but also have to set up a detour for cyclists, so it's not cheap. Most just use it without asking in the first place though, same with a sidewalk, both need a permit. Construction industry motto is that it's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission... lol

Sad to lose more 100+ year old houses, but great to see some more density. Also not stoked for construction disruptions to the bike lane, every construction company uses it as their loading zone until bylaw eventually stop them lol.

I didn't realize this wasn't in the new community called Belvedere lol. Lots of these 5 and 6 storey buildings going up out there.

Sadly, windowless bedrooms are becoming more common, even in new builds. Lots of developers will do a glass door or put a transom somewhere up high to try and get some natural light into bedrooms. Can't say I would buy a unit with no bedroom window...

lol, I'm not saying Truman close lanes to spite people, but they also don't seem to try very hard to accommodate people either. Lots of sites will use the sea cans or hoarding to allow the sidewalk to stay open. Maybe part of the issue with this site is the lack of a lane to load from?

They are probably finishing the utility and alignment work this fall, then will come back in the spring and do the final finishing work. That will be quick though, should only be a coulple weeks per block...

Pretty sure they have no plans to leave. Too many of their "clients" harassing rich people and tourists may change that, but it would take a few years. Alpha House is an unfortunate necessity, they do good work with very difficult people.

The "media" on the far right is just getting looney, Fox is actually a moderate compared to a lot of this stuff. People just sit there all day and consume this hateful nonsense and take it as 100% truth. I haven't seen an equivalent on the left.

Apparently a lot of hard liners on the right are calling for violence against the left in the wake of this. I hope they make an arrest soon, the justice system needs to function here.
