    The George on 17th | ?m | 8s | Truman Development | NORR

I agree with that. I know that it is code that you cannot have balconies over hanging a busy pedestrian street. In this case, the balconies are inverted into the building so they got aware with it being completely vertical. In the near future I don't see 17th Ave being as welcoming or livable as...

    Underwood Tower | 99.06m | 31s | Western Securities

I know. That said, half the street was demolished for the new buildings that are there now. Does anyone know what was there before the Therode building that now houses Starbucks, Any Time Fitness etc?

Orange is on. LED over the storefront is cool too. Overall, this turned out great considering that its from an average developer.

Anyone know if that is the existing Union Square parkade that they are excavating against? Does this parkade extend under the park and playground?

    Parkside | ?m | 18s | Anthem | IBI Group

I agree. I would be of the opinion that a waterfront district with restaurants and bars would bread some life into the place even in winter. Hopefully when some of the future developments in East Village are complete, this will be the case. A cafe or decent restaurants would do well at the base...

    Parkside | ?m | 18s | Anthem | IBI Group

Jogged by this one today. Does anyone know if there will be retail at the ground level of this development? If not, and all residential and grade, seems like a wasted opportunity for restaurants, bars, cafe etc. given the foot traffic that this area gets along the river? Anyone know where...

    17 Select | ?m | 26s | PBA Land Development | Gibbs Gage

So it looks like Marmot are installing underground utilities on this site. They have precast catch basins, manholes and piping. Either getting the site ready or this is associated with the 17th Ave revamp work.

    17 Select | ?m | 26s | PBA Land Development | Gibbs Gage

Hey guys, move equipment and work onsite. Looks like they are stripping/prepping the site. Bit strange, as other posters have pointed out they don't even have a development permit yet.

    One6 | ?m | 5s | Strategic Group | NORR

I know. Exact same design and materials on their new development at 17th Ave Centre St SW. Lazy company with absolute no regard for how their properties look and play a role in a neighbourhoods look. All they care about is their botton line unfortunately. Would love to see the City have some...

    Eau Claire Market Redevelopment | 135.02m | 35s | Harvard Developments

Well Eau Claire isn't getting a re-tweaking, it is getting a complete demolition and rebuild. Such a shame. If only the city had balls to dictate to the developers and not the other way around. No more water park, Barley Mill, Eau Lumber building, Joeys, Old Spaghetti Factory.

    Eau Claire Market Redevelopment | 135.02m | 35s | Harvard Developments

Regarding the historic buildings in Eau Claire that will be demolished as part of this terrible development. I came across an inventory of historic buildings in Calgary that luckily still stand, for now...

    Eau Claire Market Redevelopment | 135.02m | 35s | Harvard Developments

I think it I an absolute shame that the city is allowing these developers get full reign on redesigning complete areas of the city without any consideration of what is already there and is liked. It is evident that cash is king in this city. Today it was released that the city voted in favour...
