I would love to see the city rename some of the prominent streets back to their original names. 4th st sw --> Broadway Street 17th ave sw --> Notre Dame Ave 1st sw --> Scarth Street 9th ave SE --> Atlantic Ave. Just my two cents, but I find the use of numbers for main corridor streets boring.

July housing starts out. Calgary having a cooler month after leading the country for the first half of 2025. A low number of apartment starts seem to be the main reason, so not sure if this is the start of a cooling off trend or simply an aberration. I wouldn't be surprised to see housing starts...

It's definitely better than the empty lot that's there now, though it is a bit on the monolithic side. If this and Stampede Station were to be built the area would be an absolute highrise forest.

It would be pretty cool. The only concern might be the square footage, as the current location and the Bay building are both around 300K, but it wouldn't leave room for expansion. There's always a possibility the university could expand into the buildings next to the Bay building, or upwards a...

Nothing earth shattering, but this is what I would expect for the location. These mixed with the rowhomes, is a good mix, and a decent density boost.

I usually take these proposals from smaller unknown developers with a wait and see mindset. I've seen so many of these types never materialize. If this developer can't do anything, hopefully they will sell it to another developer.

True, and could be too that the developer, being a smaller outfit with less history is taking longer getting back on things due to manpower or volume. Relating to them being a newer developer it could be they are dealing with lots of changes/back and forth with the city that a larger more...

Looks decent enough, and checks the boxes. The part I'm looking forward to most is having that retail wall along the east side of 19th to match the one on the west side.

A few town homes and a couple of 6 storey wood frames would fill it out decently. It's kind of an isolated location, so at this point, the extra density will be good.
