Certus has done good stuff in the past, I’m glad to see they’re doing more projects in the city.

    Alberta Provincial Politics

Cutbacks to public service can happen if the NDP went on a hiring spree and voting public wasn’t happy about it. It’s happened before. Like jwite said, the UCP needs a shakeup and voting them out would send the message that a shakeup is needed.

    Calgary Field House | ?m | ?s City of Calgary |

I remember that. lol. The good thing is Calgary can solve the 'Edmonton habit' , but for Edmontonians there isn't a fix for the 'Calgary habit', it's the way things are going to go.

Nothing exceptional, but solid, and will be a nice density boost for the area.

    Trees in Calgary

It’s too bad the city wasn’t offering up 20,000. This city needs a heck of a lot more trees.

Quite large for the area, which I’m sure will cause residents to lose it, but IMO this fit in well and will add a lot of residents and help boost the area as a whole.

    Calgary's Homeless

I agree, that moving the DIC and some other facilities out of the core to industrial area does feel like it is hiding people out of sight but I don’t have an issue with that. There’s no law that says homeless people have to be treated in a downtown core. We’ve had that line of thinking for...

The man who smashed the bridge was released jail yesterday. As expected, he won’t be paying anything, and he was sentenced to 275 days of which he is already served so they released him. In the article, it says he was homeless for the past 10 years, and they’ve given it as one of the reasons...

    Calgary's Beltline

It’s nice to see the Beltline named as the number one neighborhood, even though it is an opinion piece by the look of it.

I Don’t Regret Moving To Calgary From Toronto

I don’t know if I agree 100%. I get where you’re coming from, but on the other hand, once people start to complain about how good it used to be better, maybe it was actually better at the time. Overall though, these articles are merely opinion pieces, and nothing more. I could write up 100...

    Statscan numbers

Edmonton and Calgary should end up getting a lot of people. Only this past year, Ottawa, overtook Calgary and Edmonton to become the fourth largest metro. Due to an expansion of their boundaries mind you, but still it became the fourth largest, now I’m wondering how long that will last? It might...

This doesn’t surprise me at all. I’m not trying to put down the GTA, but when house prices in suburban Toronto are the same as Vancouver, there’s a problem. A lot of people like suburban Toronto GTA, but but there are lots who don’t love it. Like in any city of course, but when you’re paying...

    Statscan numbers

I’m not surprised it had reversed. I’ve always maintained that most of the migration for people in that age group is due to either schooling or job opportunities. 20-24 age bracket would be more for schooling, but 25-29 more for job opportunities.
