    West District | ?m | ?s | Truman

Bruh West District is literally a greenfield community being developed for high density use. These NIMBYist are so annoying sometimes. Like why move there if everyone knew the community was being developed with a high-density vision? It's not like the NIMBYist can make the argument that they've...

    Imperia | 95.3m | 27s | Truman | NORR

I was specifically talking abt detached homes in the NE. Pockets of Saddleridge, Cityscape etc. have homes at approx 1 mil or more. These prices are very reminiscent of starter detached homes in Cities like Surrey, Coquitlam, and Mississauga in 2017 ish. We've become unaffordable and some of the...

    Imperia | 95.3m | 27s | Truman | NORR

Shoe boxes selling for $1mil in the NE is a sign that certain segments of our housing market are beginning to reach Van/Toronto Pre-Pandemic levels. Here's hoping for a $100-200k correction in our market's detached and semi-detached segments if supply does considerably catch up with our...

I like the height, but I don't know how I feel about the same colour, which is orange/black brick on both sides of the street. One building could be white and black brick, I feel. Also, is there not a single retail bay?

    Chinook Centre Developments

I hopped on this forum thinking there was some tower announcement LOL! Calgary's malls are becoming increasingly outdated with inefficient land usage, especially compared to cities like Vancouver, Toronto, and even Ottawa soon. Many major malls in those cities are embracing redevelopment...

    Flyover Block | 20m | 6s | RNDSQR | FAAS Architecture

Yeah, the colours of the building do not sit right for me. It's like a grey Soviet build with cheap meshing trying to save it. Pretty disappointed with this one.

    Aria Encore | 56m | 17s | Gracorp | Zeidler

I feel like much of the University District is already designed at a human scale, so I wouldn't mind seeing a couple of 30-storey towers on the outer lots to add some extra density and create a little mini highrise node. We might as well maximize lot usage to house people and allow developers to...

Do we have any confirmation of progress on the heritage station towers? A few of these 25+ storey towers will help start up a nice mini highrise node.

Ideally, I would like to see residential development on that land, not just a stadium.

West district at the ex-Greyhound site would be an ideal location, IMO. It's close to downtown and has an LRT station. However, I understand that soil remediation would make the development costly.

What!?? There are 3 more towers planned on that block

Ok, I'm more hopeful with this! The product finishing looks simple yet good. Hopefully, ASI will continue to improve their designs and finish by the time they get to build their later projects on 17 Ave. One thing I still dislike is the podium. 4-8-storey midrises need to stop with the...

    Infill Development Discussion

I feel this is another example of inefficient use of TOD land. These 52 units could have been stuck in a midrise and designed with a more urbanized format, perhaps with a main street, sort of like West District or University Ave, something that the NE east of Deerfoot lacks. I'm happy with the...

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/immigration-new-federal-plan-alberta-government-1.7362204 I'm curious to see how population growth will shape up now but I’d say this shift was long overdue. Finally!

This development looks old and outdated already.

^ This right here is accurate. I've grown up in the NE for most of my life. However, my cultural values and beliefs align much more with Canadian values and beliefs than those of immigrants. My friends are the same, as they have moved to different parts of the city where there are fewer brown...

    Heritage Station Towers | 79m | 27s | Westcorp | GEC

I worked on the parkade in 2014, it was my first construction job ever. They made the parkade large enough to house vehicles for two future towers. I'm surprised this thing has taken this long to restart, but then again it seems as if phased developments in Calgary take decades to build out...

    Crane Count

Yeah just came back from Metro Van , Calgary is seriously lacking rn. It seems as if the Oakridge Mall redevelopment site in Van seems to have more cranes than all of Calgary! The lowrise stuff is cool, but we're missing out on a highrise boom experienced in the rest of Canada.
