    Green Line LRT | ?m | ?s | Calgary Transit

Chicago is elevated outside the true core. The Loop is underground. The point I was making is a very high percentage of mass transit through major cities are underground. Just because an incompetent partner decides late in the game to change their mind doesn’t make it the right decision. City...

Elevated out of downtown is fine. Through the core is very rare. Only city I can remember having it right downtown is Miami and it’s not ideal there.

With all the hail damage recently maybe that goes into factoring during design nowadays? Look at the airport and all the windows in Concourse B that were damaged. You’d think some of those designs in Calgary would be prone to damage/flooding.

West Village Towers | 149.95m | 42s | Cidex Group | NORR Dubai Yahya Jan

As per the start of the 3rd tower. I’m surprised the city didn’t require a bond or a time frame for filling in that ugly pit along the NE corner of the property where the third tower is going. I’m not a hater of this project so far , but that hole just puts a blight on everything for me

Seems Truman is gung ho on getting all there developments going quickly. Wonder when Marc and Marda, the Rise and the proposed one by stampede (hotel?) might get shovels in the ground. Wish all developers in Calgary were this optimistic about the market

It’s actually pretty smart the way they’ve done it. Guys do the shoring on one, then move to next one and so on. Then dig the pit on first, then move onto second and so on. Gotta be a cost savings on that

I think that’s it for now in the belt line (remember something maybe over by the stampede on 17th). Marc and Mada in Marda loop looks impressive too

Really how much more to get to Seton? The right away is there (at least till Stoney Tr) and it’s quite a pretty simple build. Except for a bridge over Stoney, not much structure needs built?

    The Rise | 88m | 26s | Truman | Metafor

I’m not sure it’s an issue with CMLC or any other developer in the future. The presence of the drop in centre and the homeless just loitering around the area is the biggest problem. IMHO

Because of $$$. I believe it’s around $100,000 per crosswalk. Believe there are 30,000+ crosswalks in Calgary. What would fix this issue the most is if drivers and pedestrians pay attention more. I’m on the road everyday for work and I see people just walk across roads without even looking...
