If they want to market us as a world class city then they should build infrastructure in a world class way, underground.

That's the thing though, the single busiest +15/30 in the entire system is the one from the Core across 2nd street. No way the mall owners go for that +15 coming down.
I've been to Japan too, this will suck for our current built environment in that area. We don't have the population density and existing amenities to flourish with that hanging around. Investment will go to other areas of Beltline and the CBD.
Hmm, maybe not related to this proposal but I have heard rumours that SAPL may take floors in the building as soon as next year. Anyone else heard this?

Probably doing it so pedestrians and wheelers are forced into conflict, and hate each other all while ignoring that we give cars pretty much what they want all the time...
