    1901 College | 16m | 5s | Truman

Truman is reliable, and I have no doubt they’ll build this but don’t forget they sat in West 17 and Archer after demo for a while before going ahead. Also the sand with West 33 which has been idle for a year since demo happened. We also have the 3 sites on 24th Ave that were bulldozed and have...

Who will be Alberta's largest metro in a decade?

Bingo. Edmonton has just as much in common with Houston as Calgary does and Calgary has just as much in common with Austin as Edmonton does. And it’s not a lot. Edmonton and Calgary are much more alike to each other than to those cities. If one compares Canadian cities to American cities, there...

    Calgary International Airport

I have a question for the airport, passenger stat experts, here. If a passenger comes in from Saskatoon, and transfers, over to one of the flights to Europe, does that passenger get counted twice in the statistics or just once?

    Calgary International Airport

I’m planning to go to Rome in the spring coming back to Calgary from Paris. I probably would’ve done this trip eventually if we didn’t have the direct flights, but the direct flights madd me want to do it sooner than later. I don’t how many numbers to back this up but I believe the direct...

Is Calgary still an oil and gas town or has it moved on?

IMO Calgary hasn’t fully moved on from it yet, but it is definitely moving on and I don’t think it’s totally accurate to call it an oil and gas town anymore, even though it’s still the primary industry. 20 or 30 years ago I think it would’ve been fair to call us oil and gas city.

It was mentioned a few years ago that Grosvenor was selling, but I recall reading somewhere that they decided to keep it.

    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

Well, that’s a downer. If the land is already zoned for multi family, maybe another developer will come in and start a different project.

    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

I would say so. The Broward is also being shopped on that Toronto real estate site. It’s got as much chance if not better.

    Shawnessy Station | 69m | 20s | Telsec

Compared to most of the low rise projects around the city, this went up very quickly.

The building looks okay in my opinion. A nice change from the older brick buildings beside it.

I don’t think people realize how low the margins sometimes are on some of these events. Even on a high margin item such as beer, it’s not as much as people think, by the time you pay for the actual beer pay for the delivery system, call mom and pay for the employees who serve it, you might make...

    Calgary Transit

We are a rich country, but the problem is the way Canadian cities and North American cities for that matter spread out. Part of that is exactly due to the wealth that we have an part of it is due to the era in which housing was built. Calgary is a reasonably big city in Canadian terms, but for...
