That's over where the indoor plaza is. They started putting up steel right around Thanksgiving so it's going up quick!

Understated engineering piece....the strength and size of the roof beams to freespan the loading dock...AND be weight bearing for multiple levels above

I just noticed how much higher the slab for the plaza sits compared to the road. Do they plan on raising 14th Ave?

I would think so. I have time at lunch today, I'll walk over and see if I can capture the height difference in the SE corner from what exists there today.
Renderings show a flat plaza and no or minimal steps to the curb of 14th Ave.

I think that's a bit of an optical illusion with the photo. Certainly a gradual slop though....until you get to the community rink at the east end which does have a few steps...but the photos referenced is further west. You cant raise 14th because of what's across the street.

There was a depiction of the area outside the community on the barrier. It does show steps going down to the road.
Looking north up 5A Street, you can see the side walks across the street are temporary and there is some room to raise it a bit.
Judging by the height of the entrance sign, I think 14th has some room to be raised.
If you look at @Tothewest cross section you can see this wall for the community rink but it isn't four feet tall. So, in conclusion, I think they will raise 14th Ave.
The steel structure is well underway and even includes the second level suites part of the bowl.
Almost at grade on the north portion over the loading dock.
Sidewalk for the section Stampede Trail across from the arena is almost completed.
