They're pouring the penthouse still, that is quick, I'll believe it when I see it. Unless they mean Spring as June 20th.
Would be record pace for this one to meet that target. In the article they actually say that residential move in isn't until "mid-to-late spring of 2026" with the steakhouse expected to open in the spring of 2027.

And with Tony Roma’s coming in across the street, 8 Ave will have American steakhouses for a wide variety of income brackets 🙃
Highly recommend checking back on Page 1 of this thread for a blast from the past, way back in 2018. We were all so much younger then, so wonderfully naive and optimistic!

LOL a cost of ~$1m per rental unit!!! These guys are inept. How they continue to stay in business is a mystery.

I missed this but saw that it means that Ruth's Chris is leaving the Calgary Tower. Interesting... That whole podium desperately needs a rethink. Now that the conversion is underway on the tower, maybe they'll be motivated to breath some life into the Calgary Tower podium.

Also, you're telling me this building will be ready for tenants as late as June... (taken last night, so maybe a lot of progress has been made overnight)

The owners are from Alberta and are pouring a lot in to give that end of downtown more life. They also serve Alberta beef.
The Owners are local, but the chain is definitely American, so some of the profits are going south of the border. I know they serve Alberta beef, but the last time I went there (the only time really) they were definitely pushing the American beef. I tried it and wasn't super thrilled with it, especially at the price. Grass fed > grain fed for sure.
