I actually quite like the new design and would be happy if it were going on any other site - but the original was better.

In agreement...I wish they kept the scalloped design, but this looks pretty good. Caveat being they pull it off with nice materials/craft.

I like this design. Almost a tie with the original for me. It is a shame that those two massive trees will be cut down, but it is what it is.

I really liked the old design. The balconies reminded me of Aqualuna in Toronto.
That said, I also like the new design. Almost looks like it’s inspired by Mies van der Rohe.

Agree with everyone else. Prefer the original but this is also pretty good. The original was a little more unique. I liked the curved balconies. I still like River West towers because of the curved balconies on those ones.

I think I actually like the new design more. The original was unique and would have also been great, but really looked like a 60s/70s design. Would have been worried after a few years of aging, the building would actually look like it was built in 60s/70s.

Personally I like this new design a little better. The design is simpler, but has a mid century’ modern feel to it.

Both designs are pretty great. I'm sad we're only getting one and not both 
On another note, it's interesting how Dialog Calgary seems to be exceptionally good at residential design, whereas they and every other Dialog office in the country are completely awful at designing anything else.

I mean to come up with this design's vernacular doesn't require originality. There's existing inspirations all over the country. The setbacks on the sides take all the grace out of it. It looks clunky instead of vertical. DIALOG took a mid century minimalist vernacular and ruined it with massing. They're more like all the other firms they took over than you think.

Yes the setbacks do really lower the quality.
The bar is so ridiculously low for design in Calgary I am still impressed, especially when it's Dialog were talking about.
